Tired of voting yet? No? Well, you’re in luck, because the first ever From the Ashes End of Season Awards are here!
Six categories are being contested, covering everything from the opening match in March through until the Western Conference Final in October. Fan voting and a separate media ballot will each make up 50% of the final results.
Fan voting is now open for the following categories. You can cast your ballot until 5pm on Friday November 13 by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page.
The categories are:
- Team MVP – The Team MVP award is given to the player who has contributed the most to Phoenix Rising’s success over the course of the entire season (regular season and playoffs). Any player who has featured in eight or more matches this season is eligible.
- Young Player of the Year – The Young Player of the Year award is given to the young player who has contributed the most to Phoenix Rising’s success over the course of the entire season (regular season and playoffs). Any player who was under the age of 23 for the first match of the season, and who has featured in four or more matches, is eligible.
- New Signing of the Year – The New Signing of the Year award is given to a new face who has stood out more than any other for Rising this season (regular season and playoffs). Any player who was not part of the squad in 2019, and who has played in four or more matches, is eligible.
- Unsung Hero – The Unsung Hero award is given to a player who has made a significant contribution to the team’s success but doesn’t receive the appropriate recognition. Any player who has featured in four or more matches this season is eligible.
- Goal of the Year – The Goal of the Year award is given to the most impressive goal in the 2020 season, including the playoffs. A shortlist of six goals has been compiled, which you can watch in a YouTube video attached to the ballot.
- Game of the Year – The Game of the Year award is given to the best match of Phoenix Rising’s 2020 season. All games won by Rising, including shootout wins, have been included.
